The “Educational Days” are something new the EAST AURORA DRIVING SOCIETY is trying this year, to help new drivers get a start in the sport. We don’t know how much interest there will be, but we would like to help those interested in learning more about the sport of pleasure driving.
There are NO fees for attending these educational days.
Anyone who is just interested in learning about each topic is also welcome to come
We will have a member horse and carriage available for demonstration.
After the discussion, there will be a drive through the park and a short gathering after. (bring a snack and a drink).
Come just to watch and learn or bring your horse/pony/mini, and have someone help you with whatever question you may have. We are not experts but members willing to spend time sharing whatever knowledge we have to help others interested in learning, and get started in the sport. You may be interested in Pleasure Driving, Combined Driving, Breed Shows, or driving for your own enjoyment around the farm.
Please help us by letting us know of you would like to attend so that we can better plan for the day or let you know of any change in plans. Please call or text Sue Emborsky 716-480-5730
We will discuss the parts of the harness, various collars and tugs, and types of materials used in making the harness. We will discuss various types of harness and anyone with
an equine (any type and size) and (vehicle (any type and size) is welcome to come. We can help you understand the parts of the harness, how they work and, if desired, comment on your equipment. Anyone who is just interested in learning is also welcome to come
